Food Bank Update

Dear Supporters,

Thank you once again for the donations received at our monthly collection yesterday.

Whether it's the arrival of the colder weather or not, but we have seen an increased demand in the last month, many from larger families. As a result, our supplies have been significantly depleted and for our next collection we would welcome contributions of all foodstuffs and toiletries (except tea and toothpaste, of which we have plenty!)

At the December collection we make up special Christmas boxes for referred families and individuals. As well as basic foodstuffs, these include some seasonal treats and small gifts for adults and children. Any donations of non-perishable items can be made at our 12th November collection. Perishable items should be delivered on 10th December, as these boxes are sent out the week before Christmas, so we need to be careful with use-by dates.

I will remind you of these dates again nearer the time.

Thank you again for all your support

Best wishes

Carol McQuistan

Community Involvement

Members of Greyfriars are involved in a wide range of community activities, including Winter Wonderland, Kirkcudbright Art & Crafts Trail, Fairtrade, Rotary Club, Inner Wheel, Stewartry Sea Cadets, Kirkcudbright Choral Society, The Feral Choir, Lyric Singers (Kirkcudbright Community Choir), the Stewartry Food Bank and local schools where our rector, Stephen Hazlett, takes assemblies and other activities.

During the Jazz Festival we invite one of the visiting jazz bands to accompany our hymn singing on Sunday morning.
